In case anyone's curious what all I'm putting on the bike there's a list after the jump. (Also +100 Alex cool points if you know what character this is a picture of)

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

And finally the frame is a Specialized Allez E5 Smart-weld with a white Specialized Rivia saddle

Will a basket ball card work?

If I refer to "what's-her-face from Spice and Wolf" I probably lose and gain equal cool points, for knowing and not remembering the name properly.

Something like "Holo", I think.

Aluminum with a carbon fork (alloy steerer) and carbon seat tube.

I'm jealous. What is your usual bike route? I need to know so I can mug you and steal your bike.

Hey not too bad, just about what a complete Surly Pacer costs... that's my dream realistic roadie... bulky but invincible

Have you checked out the Soma Smoothie? It cost a bit more than the Surly but it weighs about 1/2 of a pound less and has more of a race geometry.

Actually I picked the Fizik tape for that purpose. White tape is going to get dirty however the Fizik is supposedly really easy to clean and make look like new.

I have not... Haven't thoroughly inspected this niche yet, chiefly because I'm not on the market as of now.

I'm a cheap guy so I'll probably just end buying vintage road bike for ~150 on CL over the summer and rebuild it, lol. I have an 80's Motobecane Mirage but that's too small to ride comfortably for a long time.

I am disappointed that I was unable to find any examples of Horo-themed itachari to post here.

That would be pretty awesome. If there's a velodome near wherever I get placed teach in Japan I might have to create one.

Well it helps that they have a massive R&D budget. But I have a Specialized Hardrock 29er disc comp and I've never, with routine maintenance, had any issues with it.

i guess i should have elaborated, but thats what i was getting at. they just built a wind tunnel to dial in the aero on there road bikes for Christ sake. the purgatory and butcher mountain bike tires undergo digital analysis to study wear patterns, level of grip and ability to roll. i like to support start ups and smaller companies but when it comes to thousands of my dollars i gotta go with something i know has been tested and thought out
